Begin with the items that need their own place

A useful compartment layout begins with the items that should not sit loose in the main compartment. Write down what the bag must carry during a normal session, then mark what needs quick access or separation. A phone, keys, clean clothing, footwear, and training accessories do not all need the same type of pocket. This list helps you decide whether you need one main space with a small outer pocket or a bag with several distinct storage areas.

Choose the main compartment around the largest item

The main compartment sets the limits for the rest of the layout. Model 45666 has a wide-opening main compartment with external storage, so it gives buyers a starting point when access to packed clothing matters. Models 4503 and 4504 have a wide main compartment with front storage and side pockets. Check the opening and the actual items together before deciding how much room should be taken by separate pockets.

Add exterior storage only when it has a job

Exterior pockets are easiest to specify when each one has a stated purpose. Model 2610 combines a main compartment with a front zipper pocket and end compartments. Model 2620 has a main compartment, two front pockets, and side storage. The 2045 and 2055 boxy gym duffels use a main compartment with external zipper storage. These examples show different layouts, but the right one depends on which items the program needs to keep separate.

Check how pockets affect the bag as it is carried

A pocket may be useful on a flat product image but less useful once the bag is packed and carried. Look at the side panels, handle attachments, and strap path as part of the layout. Models 4503 and 4504 also have a reinforced base, while the 2045 and 2055 have dual handles and a removable shoulder strap. Ask for a sample that reflects the intended load so you can see whether the pockets still work with the selected carry format.

Put the approved layout in the production brief

Record the chosen model, the purpose of each compartment, the fabric and color request, logo position, and any changes to the pocket layout. Keep the approved sample photos with the same brief. Current product pages describe the available starting layouts, while the quotation and sample confirm the final construction. A written record makes it easier to check that the custom gym bag matches the layout you approved.
